Ice Cream Festival

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids, on a blazing hot day, to the Austin Ice Cream Festival. It was WAY too hot, but we got to eat ice cream, listen to the Biscuit Brothers (a local children's band) and pet lots of critters at the petting zoo. Needless to say, the petting zoo was the big hit. The kids petted the usual suspects like sheep and goats, but they had two baby Brahman cows, some deer, a llama and much to my surprise and delight, a baby red kangaroo and a wallaby! That kangaroo was the softest thing I've ever felt and it was SOOO cute. Ian was in love! The calves were just too cute as well! It was a wonderful day, despite the hot weather!
