Piggle Party--Take 2!

Here are some photos of Sunday night's festivities!

Piggle Wiggle celebrates Numero Uno!

We actually had two birthday parties for Ainsley. We celebrated with friends on Saturday night and family on Sunday night. She had a blast and got lots of goodies! We have determined that she is a true cupcake pig! She can shovel those things down like there's no tomorrow! Here are some pics of the Saturday festivities!

Stuck inside on a muggy, rainy day.

Where's Noah and his ark when you need him? It's POURING outside, so we are stuck inside! Ian's been playing with his toys, Ainsley has been cruising around getting into everything and I have been checking email. Ian decided he wanted to try on his new Spiderman sneakers we got yesterday, so he has been running around, striking poses and "slinging webs" all over the house! I did manage to get him off the walls for some quick photos with his sister though!

Splish Splash!

Ainsley has outgrown her little tub, so she now enjoys the luxury of a bath in a full-sized tub! Lots more toys, space to crawl around, way more water to splash in Mommy's face!

Ian and Ainsley's first White Trash Party!

Our friends had a great "White Trash" Party yesterday. Everyone dressed the part, including my kiddos. Boy, did we ever fit in! Ian was on such a sugar high is was unbelievable! He ate cheese puffs, moon pies, and a half a bologna sandwich, not to mention the grape soda! I was so afraid his little body would shut down eating such horrible food, but he didn't get a tummy ache or anything! He must take after his Dad and have an iron stomach! Anyway, a great time was had by all and Ainsley was happy as a clam, cruising around in her tie-dye and diaper!

Ian works hard for Dad's Day!

Ian was supposed to work on his Father's Day gift at our "Messy Art and Science" co-op, but we weren't able to go because Ainsley was sick. The project was going to be tie-dying something for Daddy. Well, since we didn't get to go, I called my friend to find out what I needed so we could tackle the project at home. Now I know what you're thinking, Brady's not really the tie-dye kind of guy, which is why we decided to tie-dye undies! That way he can enjoy his tie-dye privately! Ian and I also made a nice card for Brady as well. I helped with cutting out stuff and the basic writing, but the rest was all Ian. So here are a few photos to show how all of his hard work paid off! Daddy was so surprised and very pleased with his gift and card!

Daredevil gets a new tooth!

First things first, Miss Ainsley has FINALLY cut tooth number 4! Its little white edge is poking out of that gum and we are so happy, this one was a BEAR! Hopefully the rest won't be so problematic. I'm glad though, I hope it catches up with the other top tooth soon as she is very much looking like a hillbilly these days!

Onto other news, Ainsley was downstairs with me while Ian was playing on his computer upstairs when I realized how quiet it was (we all know that's a bad sign when kids are involved!). I walked around the wall in the living room to find my little Daredevil perched quite precariously upon the second stair trying to eat her Daddy's Tevas! I was COMPLETELY caught off guard!! I've never even seen this child put her foot firmly on the ground, but obviously she has been testing the waters when I'm not watching. I called her name and she immediately turned and teetered over backwards. Thank goodness I was close enough to grab her before she split her head open on the hardwoods. It scared her though and big tears ensued, well at least I think it scared her, maybe she was just p.o.'d because I interrupted her adventure! I guess that second babygate is needed sooner than I thought. She's been kind of slow in regards to pulling up on things and walking, but honestly, I was OK with that! I just don't know if I'm ready for all the bonks and bruises that accompany learning to walk!

Ode to a Caterpillar

Oh little Greenie
Greenie so green
You were the coolest little dude
we had ever seen!

We found you on a tennis court
We had your back
We saved you from becoming
a quick grackle snack!

We brought you home
And you made a cocoon
We looked forward to your emergence
around the full moon.

But things went awry
We were taken aback
You were the victim
of a maggot ATTACK!

A nasty old fly
Laid some eggs on your skin
They hatched when you pupated
And ate you from within!

So now all that's left
Is an empty cocoon
And a hole in our hearts
That won't mend too soon!

We'll miss you Greenie and what you might have become!!

My little chatterbox!

Ainsley is quite the little chatterbox these days! She has quite a few words in her repertoire such as Daddy, Mommy, baby, Bubba, pu-pup, kitty, hi and most recently baboon. Granted, she has no idea what the hell a baboon is, but she sure can say it well! She has been trying to say Ian we think, but it comes out (very loudly mind you) as "EEEEE-YAH!" Now if we can just get that "n" in there, she'll have it! She also does a great impersonation of me or Brady telling her no, "uh, uh, UH!" while shaking her head at us. She's too funny! Now if she would put half that effort into trying to walk. At this point she is content crawling and occasionally pulling up to her knees to look on the couch. Oh well, to be honest, I'm not ready for her to be walking anyway! She can take all the time she needs!

Oops we did it again!

It is so weird, ever since Ian decided that bugs are cool, we have been bombarded with cool specimens. This is the little guy we found on the maple tree this morning. After some research it was determined that it is an American Dagger Moth Caterpillar. Lovely little caterpillar that transforms into a very plain gray moth. Please go to this link if you are so inclined to check it out:

We considered keeping him, but decided since "Greenie" is already using the butterfly habitat, I really didn't have a good place to keep him. So he was observed by Ian awhile then set free on the maple tree. We will keep an eye out for his cocoon if he decides to stay! We are like bug capital here!
