Me:  So are you the HAPPIEST boy EVER?!?!?
Ian:  Um, probably not the happiest.  I mean there is probably some kid....

Ian-ism of the Day: Strange food edition

We were all coming back from burgers with Papa and Nana.  Somehow we got on the subject of liver and onions, which progressed to chicken livers, which progressed to sweet breads and other strange food items.  Woody brought up tongue and those of us that have tried it were commenting on the yuck factor when Ian pipes in, "Tongue would be weird, you'd be eating something that can taste you back!"

Things that make you go, hmmmmmm.  But now I REALLY don't want to eat tongue!

Ian-ism of the Day

We have recently been reading about Columbus, so I asked Ian to name the three ships that Columbus sailed across the Atlantic.  His answer?  "The Nina, the Pinta, and the Sacajawea?"  I think maybe we need to spend a little more time on this!  ;)

Ian-ism of the Day:

Ian used his allowance to purchase himself and his little sister remote control cars.  Ainsley's car is of course smaller and less impressive, but as it turns out, faster than Ian's car.  He was explaining this to me when he said, "You know, I think her car just has more exhilaration than my car."  I'm pretty sure he meant acceleration, but who knows, maybe her car DOES have more exhilaration!

Ian-ism of the Day

So a couple of afternoons ago, Ian was talking to me about what he wants to be when he grows up.  He of course wants to be a basketball player.  I asked him what else he might want to be if he can't be an athlete and he says with a totally serious and straight face:

"Mom, the only way I wouldn't be a basketball player is if I could be a Jedi."

Ian-ism of the Day:

While we were grocery shopping at HEB....

Me:  Ian, go grab some cooking oil.
Ian:  Which kind?  Vegetable or crapola?

He was dead serious, then he caught what he said and looked at me, we both just cracked up!  Serious tears in the baking aisle!

Such a smart boy!

We were watching TV when a commercial came on trying to talk you into buying these newly printed $2 bills.  They were offering 2 of them for $10.  Ian was like, "Wait a minute, that doesn't make any sense.  If you get 2-$2 bills for $10 then you are getting a single $2 bill for $5?  That's stupid!!!  Why would anyone pay $5 to get $2?!?!?"  He's a pretty savvy dude when it comes to money!

Ian-ism of the Day: A word for muffin-haters

"How can someone NOT like muffins?!?!  I think all muffin-haters should learn how to love and forget how to hate!"
