This is Ainsley's new way of showing her unhappiness. We keep telling her that if she keeps sticking that lip out a bird's gonna crap on it!

Ainsley-isms... The Lip.
This is Ainsley's new way of showing her unhappiness. We keep telling her that if she keeps sticking that lip out a bird's gonna crap on it!
Just a walk in the park!
Wednesday was a very busy day! We had the "littles" playgroup and Ian's science co-op. Luckily, both activities were scheduled at the Round Rock Memorial Park. It was a lovely day, the sun was shining, the children were playing and laughing and life was good! I snapped a few quick pics before co-op started and I have to say, these kids make me smile!

Ian aka The Poetry Man
Ian for some reason decided he needed to write a poem yesterday, so here it is:
A money honey will give you money.
He'll give you money until your face looks funny.
And when your face looks funny
He'll give you a bunny!
My son cracks me up! I can't wait for more of his awesome poetry!

Ainsley gets a haircut!
The whispies were just killing me! It was time for this girl to get a nice little "do"! So I called KAOS Kid's Salon and took her in. The hairdresser and I had a lengthy discussion on her hair and what I could expect and we opted to go for the "bob". A nice, easy-breezy cut that I could still use barrettes or do little piggy tails on top. She says once that baby hair grows in on the sides, we'll have more options, but for now, baby fine hair is better kept short. Ainsley was extremely well-behaved and she LOVES her new "do"! So here it is!

It's Potty Time!
Last night at exactly 10:06 pm, Ainsley was running around "nekkid" after her bath when she asked me for a diaper. I asked her if she needed to go pee-pee and she shook her head yes. I grabbed her up and sat her on the big potty, holding onto to her of course, and she pee-pee'd in the potty! Brady and Ian came into the bathroom and we all cheered and clapped our hands and when she was done we all did the "monkey dance" all over the bedroom! It was big fun! I am hoping this is a trend that continues. She has seemed very interested for a couple of days, but this is the first time ever that she has actually succeeded! The idea of a diaper free home sounds awesome! Wish us luck!

Late breaking news!
Ian finally let me pull that wobbly tooth today! Funny thing though, since he already has the adult tooth, or "shark tooth" as we like to call it, practically grown in he has yet to be a true snaggle-tooth! Maybe he'll be snaggly with the uppers! I am still amazed that at 7 y.o. he has only lost the two teeth. Most of his friends have lost at least 4-5 at this point! Oh well, I guess teeth are like everything else with a child, it will happen when it happens! Congrats to Ian for being so BRAVE!
For Ian on his 7th birthay...
I should have started this along time ago, but I suppose traditions have to start sometime and it's better late than never!
Dear Ian,
A couple of weeks ago you celebrated your 7th birthday! I can hardly believe it! It truly does seem like just yesterday you were running around in diapers and getting into everything. It has been amazing watching you become the boy that you are. You are kind, gentle, sweet and funny as can be! You are tall and lean with gorgeous wavy blond hair and eyes that light up my soul! I see little glimpses of myself and your father in you everyday and it makes me smile. You are the best big brother that Ainsley could ever have. She is so lucky to have you to grow up with and grow old with! Remember to always love and take care of each other.
With each year, you become more and more independent which is wonderful and heart-breaking all at the same time. I am so proud of all the things you can do and what a responsible boy you have grown to be, but it's hard to watch you pull away, striving to become the great individual you are destined to be! I want you to know that now and forever you are one of the greatest joys of my life and I cherish every moment, the good and the bad. I look forward to every day ahead of us, watching you grow, watching you thrive, watching you change into a young man! You are my first born and my only son and for that you hold a special place in my heart. So Happy Birthday my son! I love you so much and I can't wait to see what this next year brings!
Ainsley-isms
My car was in the shop, so on Tuesday, we had to take Daddy to work in order for me to grocery shop and all that fun stuff. So we packed up the kids at 8am and headed out. We had had some rain the night before and the clouds were very low and it was very thick outside. I was carrying Ainsley to the car when she said, "Mommy! It's REALLY froggy out here!"
Ah come on! How stinkin' cute can you get?!? Can I please just keep her this small forever???

Ian throws a rock-n-roll party to remember!
Ian turned 7! Unfortunately, he didn't get to celebrate his birthday on his birthday due to illness. But alas... the show must go on! So this weekend we finally managed to get the band back together man! All I can say is have a few friends dress up, blow up a bunch of guitars and microphones, have a guitar-shaped birthday cake and let kids be kids! We had the best time snapping photos and recording videos! I just hope the kids had as much fun as we did watching them! We are so lucky to have such cool friends that will indulge us in our wildest dreams! Happy Birthday my little man, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
