On the boat again...

The boat had some complications this year not to mention we are in the middle of a HUGE drought, so we weren't sure whether summer boating was going to happen this year.  Thankfully, the boat was able to be repaired (and detailed for Father's Day!) and the lake still had a little bit of water left so we decided to take it out for our first summer spin!  As always we had a blast!  We're pretty simple easy going folks though.  We like to drive the boat to a nice little cove, anchor and swim and explore.  Turns out the lake has some amazing stuff to find when it is 10 -20 ft. lower than normal!  (Forget that, turns out it's almost 40 ft. below normal!)  The kids found all sorts of giant freshwater clamshells and we actually found sand instead of rock and they were able to build sand castles!
To give you some perspective, the water should be up close to where the grass is!  Although we, of course, still had fun, it is pretty sad to see how far down the lake is.

Here's the kidlets, ready and raring to go!  Ainsley is sporting her new, super cute life jacket!
I made myself a nice, makeshift lounger with a bunch of noodles!  The water was GREAT!
Here I am helping the Piggle make a sand castle on the shore.
The boy decided to just swim, swim, swim and search for treasures!
Our fearless Captain!
Once he was sure that we were safely anchored, he hopped in too!  My girlie loves her Daddy!
After a nice swim, we piled back into the boat and got settled.
A certain little somebody decided she wanted to drive!
And got a little pouty when she couldn't.  :(
But even when she's pouty, she's cute!  It was a wonderful day on the lake and we look forward to many more!
