While at the caverns Ian discovered one of the coolest bugs I've seen in a long time! According to info on www.whatsthatbug.com, this is a Giant Walking Stick, mostly found in the southern US. This is the largest species of walking stick in the United States! This particular specimen was about 6 inches long! Leave it to my super-cool, little bug man to discover this awesome insect walking up the tree. Ian was amazed, this was his first time to see one. He was a little taken aback at first and I hear he had to go ask Daddy if it would bite or sting. But as soon as he knew it was harmless, he was so interested in it. My budding entomologist strikes again!
