A Day at the Zoo!

Linda and Woody were in town looking at houses over Labor Day weekend, but on Tues. they took the day off from the search and went with me and the kids to Waco to the Cameron Park Zoo. The kids, ESPECIALLY Ian, were very excited about going. Ian has been begging for weeks to go to the zoo. We had never been to this particular one and it was lovely! A nice, meandering path, mostly tree-covered and a good mix of outdoor and indoor exhibits. They had a very nice selection of animals and although the habitats weren't huge, they were very modern and nice and kept extremely clean! Ian was just beside himself with excitement! Ainsley was a little whiney at first, then I went back to the gift shop and rented a wagon and she did much better. It was a little hot, but with the nice air-conditioned indoor exhibits every so often, it was definitely bearable. It was a wonderful morning followed by a nice lunch at Rudy's and on the way into town, we managed to see the last home on the list of "to sees". So a very successful day! Ian spent much of last evening talking to his Grammy and telling her ALL about the zoo. I am pretty sure he went away from that trip knowing about every exhibit in that place! I was thrilled that he and Ainsley had such a good time! It was definitely worth the drive and effort when you looked into the faces of VERY happy children!

Happy, handsome, and really hot (literally)!
